Two sermons, one dated 1748 Apr. 26 (on Psalms 72.17) and one dated 1754 Nov. 16 (on Psalms 4.7), written in what appears to be a variety of Greek shorthand. Attribution to Bliss based partly on ms. annotation on 1754 sermon.

Minister of the First Parish in Concord, Mass., from 1739 to 1764. Graduated from Yale in 1732. A New Light Congregationalist, Bliss twice welcomed English evangelist George Whitefield to Concord. There was dissension in the First Parish during the ministry of Bliss, a group of parishioners breaking off to worship separately at the Black Horse Tavern.
